What is auto insurance?
Auto insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company. The agreement is that you will pay the policy’s premium and in return, the auto insurance company agrees to pay for your losses as stated on your policy.
Why do I need auto insurance?
Having insurance means having protection from financial loss. Auto insurance is a requirement in the State of California. If you are still making payments on your car, your lender may require for you to have auto insurance.
How long will I be covered by my auto insurance?
Most insurance policies are for six months or twelve months. Insurance companies usually notify you if your policy will need to be renewed.
How much auto insurance coverage do I need?
The type of coverage that you need is at least the minimum coverage required by the State of California, which is liability insurance. This type of coverage only covers damage or injury that you may have caused to other people or to property through an accident or collision. This type of coverage will not pay for your personal losses, such as damage to your vehicle. You may add additional coverage to your policy, such as collision insurance and uninsured motorist property damage. Your insurance agent can assist you in deciding how much coverage to get.
What are the seven types of auto insurance?
1. Property Damage:

2. Bodily Injury:

4. Uninsured Motorist Property Damage:

Reimburses you for damage to your automobile sustained in a collision with another car or with any other object, movable or fixed, (for example, you accidentally backed into another object while pulling out from a parking stall and causing damage to the bumper and fender of your covered automobile).
Provides coverage for any direct and accidental loss of, or damage to, your covered automobile and its normal equipment, to include but not limited to fire, theft or malicious mischief.
7. Rental and Tow:
